The MP said that most county governments in the region have not put in place realistic measures to boost food production.

He noted that food insecurity is the major hurdle that needs to be tackled urgently, so that locals can have access to food.

“County governments in Ukambani must draft policies that will improve food security,” he stated while speaking to residents over the weekend.

Mule intimated that improving food security will go along away in fighting poverty, which is prevalent in the region.

Mule on the same note called for unity of the leaders in the region, saying unity would be a catalyst for development.

Mule warned that wrangles pitting some leaders; especially in Machakos and Makueni, would paralyze development.

The MP urged both Governor Kivutha Kibwana and Alfred Mutua to bring leaders in their counties together.
