Residents from Eburu Hills, Gilgil sub-county on Thursday held a demonstrations at Eburu shopping centre over rising cases of insecurity.
The residents carrying placards and weaving twigs barricaded the roads leading to the centre, and brought business to standstill.
The residents accused the Provincial Administration of laxity in dealing with criminal activities in the area.
Joseph Kamau, a resident from the area said that they have petitioned their grievances to the local chief over the rising insecurity but nothing is coming forth.
“The residents of Eburu Hills have notified the local chief of increasing incidences of criminal activities but nothing is being done to arrest the situation,” said Kamau.
According to the residents, insecurity cases have been on the rise, with a middle-aged found murdered by unknown people on Wednesday night, with some of his body parts including private parts missing.
A week ago, another grievous and shocking incident occurred, where a minor was found murdered and similar parts were missing.
The residents urged the Provincial Administration to step up its vigilance before such cases got out of hand.
Led by their spokesman Paul Waruinge, the residents urged the government to launch a manhunt of the suspects and bring them to book.
