Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has said the county government will establish Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers in prisons across the county.

Mandago said the centres will ensure that children being taken care of by their imprisoned mothers also get good education before their parents are set free.        

“I will ensure that the prisons get ECD centres so that children growing in the correction units also get good education foundations. That way the county will be appreciating the fact that prisoners also need to be loved,” Mandago said. 

He was speaking on Wednesday at Eldoret GK Main Prison where he presented various Christmas gifts to the inmates.
