A section of ECDE teachers in Bomariba ward has said they have not been trained on the new education curriculum.
The teachers led by Pauline Mong’are and Wilfred Kebati said the government should consider training the ECDE teachers to give a better foundation for the young children joining lower classes.
“We don’t have skills on how the new curriculum will run. Lessons and timetable has changed and this will be too difficult for us to teach the minors,” said Mong’are.
She added that the Kisii County government through the education department should organize for forums to help the ECDE teachers across the County to get the skills.
“We need to be trained so as to secure a firm foundation for the children’s education,” she noted.
Kebati noted that the new education curriculum will make the learners and tutors lazy because most the time they will be idling.
He said education Cs Fred Matiang’I must come up with a plan to help the teachers and learners understand the new curriculum to succeed.
