This was a great rise as compared to 5.3 percent in 2014, this has been revealed during the 2016 Economic Survey Launch at KICC Nairobi.

The launch which took place on Tuesday at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) was graced by the CS of devolution and planning, Mwangi Kiunjuri. However, it was also disclosed that 841,600 numbers of jobs were created by the Jubilee government which signifies a 5 percent increase.

According to the Economic Survey 2016, highlights by Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the manufacturing sector recorded 3.5 per cent rise in the share of GDP to 10.3 per cent, a move driven by affordable energy prices.
