Kitui West Member of parliament elect Edith Vethi Nyenze has reached out to her competitors to join forces and develop the constituency.
Addressing the press after being declared the winner onon Monday, Vethi argued that every candidate in the race was interested in developing the constituency.
"I know you have the interest of Kitui West coconstituents at heart, come let's work together for the good of our people," Vethi said.
She promised to serve the residents without fear, favor or discrimination.
Attempts by this writer to reach her competitors who lost in the race hit rock bottom, they were not accessible on phone.
Edith Nyenze, a Wiper party candidate garnered 72.67 percent of the votes cast.
Mrs Nuenze got 14,372 votes beating her closest rival by a whopping 12,326 votes.
However, only 38 percent of the 52,042 registered voters turned up for the Monday voting.
The results were announced by the Kitui West Constituency IEBC returning officer James Mbai who released the results at Marinyani Social Hall.
