Kitui West Parliamentary seat candidate Edith Vethi Nyenze has pleaded with locals to vote her in as the area MP in forthcoming by-election.
Addressing supporters at Kabati on Wednesday, Vethi who is eyeing the seat on Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party ticket, said that she has the experience to tackle the issues facing the people.
“My first assignment if elected on Monday next week will be to improve road network that is in pathetic condition and continues to inconvenience residents especially farmers and business people,” Nyenze said.
The Wiper MP aspirant also pledged to ensure fairness in distribution of bursaries and other resources to the locals.
She vowed to boost education standards by sponsoring bright but needy students through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Vethi also pledged to improve the health sector and ensure health facilities are equipped if she is elected.
The Wiper aspirant also promised to empower women, youth, and persons living with disabilities and other marginalized groups through businesses.
Vethi said that she qualified for the job and will not let the people down if elected in the Monday next week by-election.
The Wiper party aspirant asked residents to ignore propaganda allegedly being smeared against her by her competitors.
She claimed that some of his competitors are feeling threatened by the support she is getting and are out to tarnish her name.
Last week, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked the Kitui West coals to vote for Edith Nyenze saying that she will not let them down.
The Kitui West seat was left vacant after the death of Francis Nyenze on December 6, 2017.
Nyenze died after a long battle with colon cancer.Five candidates are battling for the seat in next week’s by-election.
The candidates are Edith Vethi Nyenze (Wiper), Robert Lelli (Narc Kenya), Denis Mulwa (Independent), Fridah Mutui (Kenya National Congress) and Elijah Kilonzi (Chama Cha Mapinduzi).
