The ministry of education will not condone the ills done by students in the education sector.
Education CS Fred Matiang'i says that students facing charges of burning school resources will have to own up to their mistakes regardless of whether they are candidtes or not.
Speaking during a prize giving ceremony at Ngara girls Secondary School Nairobi, CS Fred Matiang'i said that irresponsibility in schools will not be tolerated and that discipline must be enhanced.
Meru County being on record for having burnt 64 dormitories in one term, Matiang'i stood on his grounds that ministerial resources will not be used to repair school resources burnt down by students.
He also took the chance to answer his critics who have been criticizing his impromptu visits to schools.
Matiang'i said it is time the country stopped being hypocritical if sanity is to be restored in the education sector.
Also present was cabinet secretary in charge of youth affairs Cicily Kariuki.
On Monday, Matiang'i gave an order to schools not to admit students from schools faced with unrest.
He also ordered that all transfer students must have a clearance letter from the county commissioner in charge of education in the respective county.
