Nyamira County Director of ministry of Education Siloma Kinaiyo has strongly warned those involved in rape cases in the county.
Addressing journalists in his office on Wednesday morning, Kinaiyo said there has been reported cases of raping pupils in the county and a team has been formed to track the culprits, and those involved will be arrested.
"We have recorded cases of raping pupils by teachers and locals in the county. We had two pupils aged 9 and 11 years raped in Manga, and those involved were arrested and will face trial," he said.
"We strongly warn as a ministry that those involved in such cases will be arrested and charged by the law," Kinaiyo added.
The Director also urged parents to warn their children to stay awat from strangers, adding that pupils creating cordial relationships with strangers poses a threat on their security.
"Our parents should keenly monitor their children. They should warn them from strangers so as to avoid rape cases in the locality," said Kinaiyo.
