A letter meant to reach a school asking for extra levy changed its course and landed at the hands of the CS Fred Matiang'i .
According to the detailed letter each student was required to pay Sh50 and Sh20 in secondary school and primary school respectively.
The CS affirmed to discipline the Director who had issued the letter immediately and warned others to desist from illegal engagements.
Matiang'i said that no circular from the ministry allows county education directors to collect levies.
He also said that he would table an amendment bill in parliament to permit radical changes in the education system.
Matiang'i is also of the opinion that sub-county education boards be formed where parliamentarians will play a role in managing the education in counties.
