Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has stressed the importance of education in development saying it is key in uniting people regardless of the tribe or community.

The county chief added that this is the reason as to why his administration has allocated more funding to the education sector in the coming financial year.

"Education is the only unifying factor we have among our children and that's why we budget heavily for education. The next financial year will see an increase from this year's allocation because we want to ensure that our children access school," he said. 

The governor was speaking Tuesday at Emining High School in Koibanet where he attended a thanksgiving ceremony for student Bethwel Kiplimo who scoered A in  last year's KCSE exams.
