ODM’s National Governing Council has ratified the appointment of lawyer Edwin Sifuna as the party’s secretary-general.
Sifuna takes over from Agnes Zani, who has been serving in an acting capacity for three years since the resignation of Ababu Namwamba.
Zani will deputise the city lawyer, who has been vocal about opposition affairs.
This is what the new ODM secretary general said on Twitter following his appointment on Friday.
ODM leader Raila Odinga chaired the party's National Governing Council meeting.

Owen Baya has been appointed Organising Secretary, taking over from Reuben Ndolo who has since defected to Jubilee Party.
