In a bid to improve road network in Taita Taveta, Governor Granton Samboja held a meeting with officials from Kenya Roads Network (KRB).
"This meeting is timely given the state of our county roads that need the urgent address," he said on Wednesday.
Samboja indicated they were determined to have a partnership and ensure cooperation that will greatly improve road networks.
"The people of Taita Taveta engage in farming among other activities and it is important that the roads they use to access markets, farms and other areas are in good condition."
As a county government, Samboja said they would endeavour to fulfil all requirements to ensure they qualify for grants issued, as well as ensure resources received are spent where road repairs and needs are of high priority.
"In my Manifesto, infrastructural development was among the pillars I outlined and pledged to improve on our county roads, identify and create new routes as well as the construction of new roads and rehabilitation of existing ones."
