The party’s director of elections Mohamed Jibril on Tuesday said the party supported president Uhuru’s re-election during the August 8 election and repeat of presidential poll on October 26.

“We need out share as a political party for ensuring that president Uhuru Kenyatta retained his seat for the second and last term,” said Jibril.

He added that there is a memorandum stating what EFP was to get in the deal after the party remained loyal.

“We could have supported any of the presidential candidates but we agreed to support Uhuru for the presidency. We deserve a cabinet post for the good work EFP members did,” he noted.

EFP won most of the seats in Mandera County assembly during the August 8 polls and has made inroads in the North Eastern region.

County Governor Ali Roba of Jubilee Party has been facing opposition from the EFP MCAs after the ward reps walked out of the assembly when Roba officially opened the House in September.
