The tourist class Agricultural Resource Centre (ARC) hotel at Egerton University, Njoro has gone a notch higher by adding new facilities.
Some of the additions include a modern gymnasium and a refurbished half Olympic swimming pool.
While commissioning the two facilities on Friday last week, the university’s deputy vice-chancellor in charge of research and extension Prof Gowland Mwangi said the new facilities will ensure that the hotel offers adequate services required of its standard.
He added: “ARC hotel will gear towards marketing itself in Nakuru County as well as country and worldwide levels. This will help the hotel compete with other hotels of its class to attract visitors at the university and Nakuru County as a whole.”
The hotel is located about one kilometre from the Nakuru-Narok highway within the university. It sits on a serene landscape offering conference, accommodation, a cyber café, bar and restaurant facilities. It is also offering nature rides at the university’s botanical garden and visits to the Lord Egerton Castle Museum.
