A varsity don was arraigned before a Nakuru court and charged with raping his student.
The suspect, Evans Ng’eno,who teaches at Egerton University Njoro campus, was accused of forcing himself on top of the female student a thicket near Soilo area in Nakuru.
The incident is said to have happened on September 2, 2016 at night after he met the student and gave her a lift.
The student claimed the suspect asked if she was ‘clean’ (HIV status) and then went ahead to rape her.
Ng’eno, however, denied the charges and was released on a Sh200,000 bond.
Chief Magistrate Josphat Kalo set the November 3, 2016 for hearing of the case.
