The students through their Facebook page, Egerton campus Life, condemned the manner in which the fourth year female student met her death in the hands of her butcher-boyfriend with whom they were cohabiting with.

"It is unwise and backward to kill a woman, leave alone raise your hand against her at this point and age. Kill them with love instead ," read a post by Derick Karimi.

"That man is evil. How could he in his right senses kill somebody's daughter in such a cold blood manner," wondered Elsie Achieng.

"We need to be careful with those with whom we enter into relationships with because some are clearly beasts," stated Benson Kirui.

The student was stabbed severally by his boyfriend, identified as Hilary Musisi, following an alleged family row.

Witnesses said the man, who worked as a butcher at Njokerio market,  attempted to set the house ablaze and when that failed, he picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the lady to death.

However, a mob which responded to the commotion descended on him with kicks and blows leaving him unconscious.

Police in Njokerio have however launched investigations into the matter.
