The chairperson of the Africa Diplomatic Corp (ADC) Technical Committee Yvonne Khamati has revealed that the Egyptian minister made the ridiculous statement of calling Sub-Saharan Africans 'Dogs' and 'Slaves' during the conclusion of the United Nation Environmental assembly in Nairobi.
The comments which have sparked a diplomatic furor are said to have emerged after member states disagreed over the resolution of Gaza, The Egyptian assistant minister of environment is said to have gotten worked up and referred to Sub-Saharans as 'dogs and 'slaves' in Arabic.
The details of the said racist statement were only made public after ADC chair Yvonne Khamati wrote a memo to the dean of ADC Ambassador Kelebert Nkomani, in her memo she recounts the build-up to the disgusting comment from the Minister.
“During our consultations with Egypt, the head of the Egyptian delegation and current President of AMCEN dismissed our concerns by informing that they would speak in their sovereign capacity and to that extent, referred to Sub-Saharan Africa as dogs and slaves, in Arabic,” Khamati explained in her memo.
In her memo, Khamati further recommended that the Arab republic of Egypt should apologise to Africa and also resign as the President of African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN).
