Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has urged Muslim faithful in the country to take advantage of the spiritual rebirth that Ramadhan represents to promote peace, love and justice.
In a Facebook post published on his official page on Tuesday, Awiti further urged Muslims across the country to practise acts of kindness and generosity even beyond the holy month of Ramadhan.
"As we celebrate Eid with our loved ones, we should think, pray and give charity to the less fortunate," he said.
"More than ever, we need to strive for an end to violence and unite behind peace, tolerance, compassion, generosity towards one another – the values that are at the heart of Islam and the heart of Eid," he added.
Eid al-Fitr, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of Ramadhan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
