The eight, who were among a mob that had gathered to protest at a scene of accident at Kayole along the Naivasha/Nairobi highway were arrested on the February 9 2014.
The mob had gathered and blocked the highway as they protested the death of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle.
Efforts by traffic police officers to disperse the mob peacefully and clear the highway that had caused a huge traffic snarl-up proved hard.
Besides, the protesters refused to open the highway to traffic even after a Member of the County Assembly pleaded with them to so.
Police were then called in and the eight were arrested.
