Investigations are being carried out on eight Kisumu officers accused of losing millions of shilings by the anti-graft agency.

The accused were summoned over the cyber security system where a server was allegedly bought in violation of procurement laws.

"The probe is about the Sh25 million that was paid out in the questionable transaction involving the officers under probe and the suppliers of the server," one officer said.

According to reports some of the officials received up to Sh100,000 to train staff  in the ICT and finance department.

County Secretary Olango Onudi confirmed that officals were being probed, however he declined to give out any names.

The Secretary said those involved would be held accountable based on the reccomendations of the EACC.

"Some of the investigations started long before we took over from the previous administration," he said.
