At least eight people are receiving treatment in Machakos level five hospital after the fourteen seater Nissan they were travelling in was involved in an accident on Thursday in Kwa Kakonzi area along Kathiani Machakos road.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Nissan was unable to control the vehicle which lost control and landed in a ditch thus injuring the passengers.
Confirming the incident Machakos OCPD Adiel Nyange, said that the driver of the vehicle fled immediately after the accident but the police are searching for him.
Nyange wanted drivers to be very vigilant while driving in a bid to avert cases of unavoidable accidents.
"What's the hurry for that you end up causing unavoidable accidents and risking the lives of passengers, it doesn't cost anything being vigilant on road and following traffic rules," said Nyange.
