According to Aukot, the current regime has failed to protect the constitution he was part of drafting.

It is the alleged violation of the constitution that has made the experienced lawyer run for the top seat as a way of protecting it.

"I was in the committee that was mandated to come up with a new constitution and I am not satisfied with how the same constitution has been violated. I want to go for the country's top seat and I will work my best to protect and defend the constitution," said Aukot.

He said he will use his Third Way Alliance Party of Kenya to contest for the much coveted political seat.

Aukot joins the growing list of politicians who have shown interest in an attempt to oust the incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta.
