Speaking during a Knut and Kuppet officials’ prayer meeting at TAC centre, Bor said Sh5 billion set aside for the preparedness of the El Nino rains is enough to settle the striking teachers.

“Where did the Sh5 billion come from to prepare for El Nino and yet teachers were told they don’t have money, are teachers not important for the government to neglect them?” questioned Bor.

“As teachers, we are not relenting until the government listens to us and gives us what was agreed by the court,” he added.

He further urged the president to come out and help settle the matter, and if not, he should not seek to be reelected as the president since he will not have the support of teachers.

The teachers have stayed away from classes for the second week now, after the government maintained its stand that there is no money to effect a pay hike.
