Elburgon residents are lamenting the illegal business of illicit brew in the town, especially at the sprawling Kasarani slum.
Residents said the illegal drinks much plunged many youths into hopelessness.
Stephen Njenga, a resident of Kasarani slum, urged Molo deputy county commissioner David Wanyonyi to direct chiefs and police officers in the area to embark on raids and submit daily reports in order to eradicate the illicit concoctions.
He said the illegal business has left many young people dead after consuming the killer drink.
Irate residents accused the local administration of condoning brewers.
Area MCA Njuguna Mwaura said the closure of sawmills in Elburgon, which was a source of livelihood to youths, left many desperate and plunged into alcoholism.
Mwaura said illicit brews and drug abuse has led to insecurity in the area. He asked local police to act.
