The said leopard has been on the loose and was reportedly spotted in Mau River, Elburgon on Saturday.

This is two weeks after Kenya Wildlife Service officers visited the area and assured residents of safety.

According to a resident, Francis Gaithuma, he saw the leopard at Salama township as he closed his shop around 8 pm on Saturday.

"It entered a homestead when I directed touch light to its eyes,"he said.

Another resident of Mitoni farm in Elburgon said she found the animal's cubs on her land.

KWS officials drove some stray wild animals back into Lake Nakuru National Park.

Chief Bethwel Kibe urged locals to be vigilant when venturing out.
