A family is reading foul play into the death of their relative today (Sunday) at Corner Legio within Legion Maria Church.
Evelyn Awuor Ochomo said her aunt aged 80 years passed away after being rushed to Russia Hospital.
Awuor said that information they received from the Church is that the Aunt fell from second floor of a building where they were having a Church meeting.
Awuor however claimed that when they visited the scene of the accident, they could not comprehend how the elderly woman could have fallen from the building that is also still under construction.
“It is very unfortunate that we have lost our Aunt, but the circumstance leading to her death is suspicious, we demand for answers from the Church,” said remorseful Awuor.
She said that they reported the matter to Kondele Police Station that are assisting with investigations into the incident. Kondele OCS Johnstone Wanyama has assigned three officers to investigate the case.
Awuor claimed the Church is very uncooperative with their family and Police have asked to get minutes of the meeting to ascertain if indeed there was a meeting.
Awuor said they have asked for a post mortem examination to know exactly what might have killed her aunt.
“We are getting no information from the Church, they are not ready to talk to us and we want Police to probe this matter to its conclusion,” added Awuor.
The body is lying at Russia Hospital Mortuary, Kisumu.
