The Kikuyu-Kalenjin council of elders in Nakuru have asked NASA principals led by Raila Odinga to end their hard stance and agree so that the country can go for a repeat of presidential polls scheduled for October 26.
Members of the council called on the Opposition to negotiate with all parties on the way forward instead of giving threats to IEBC.
"We ask NASA to drop their demands and reach an agreement that will not compromise peace", said Julius Kosgei, a member of the council.
Kosgei noted that the political temperature in the country is too high and politicians should shun divisive utterances and preach peace.
"Politicians should have the country at heart following the high political temperatures experienced. There must be life after elections. Kenyans should chose their preferred president without intimidation", he added.
He said investors will be scared away with the wrangles ongoing between NASA and the ruling Jubilee party.
