Elders drawn from Kisii and Nyamira counties respectively have come to rescue of troubled acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and urged politicians to stop using youths from the area make Matiang'i look like a traitor to the community.
Led by elder Joseph Mosumari the elders said Matiang'i is free to rally behind his bosses and hold campaigns in both Kisii and Nyamira counties without any humiliation from alleged hired goons.
The agitated elders condemned a group of youths who caused mayhem in Kisii town on Tuesday and said the act is unacceptable and warned the politicians involved.
"Gusii people have been having different political ground since independence and we don't see a good reason to why some few individuals are attacking Matiang'i's political stand," said Mosumari.
The elders said that they're are soon arranging a meeting to endorse Matiang'i as the community spokesman since he has the qualities they need.
