A group of Agikuyu community elders from Rukuini have condemned a recent incident where governor Jackson Mandago's convoy was stoned by unknown people.
Led by David Kinyua and Rev Gitau, the elders termed the incident unfortunate claiming it was a plot by a few individuals to soil their relationship with the county administration."We were not happy with what happened at Rukuini and we want to disassociate ourselves from such unacceptable incident," noted Kinyua."The area has been having a good working relationship with the governor and anyone out to portray us as against him is doing so in vain," added Gitau. The elders further insisted that the locals were open to any aspirant to go and campaign there but said they will not accept individuals out to divide them on tribal or regional line with a view of causing divisions and violence. The incident happened on Wednesday when the governor had toured the area to initiate projects initiated by his administration. Two cars, the governor's and the one for chief Officer administration and coordination were stoned.
