Elders drawn from various subcounties in Nyamira have condemned a section of youths that booed governor John Nyagarama while addressing residents at Kebirigo market.
According to various elders interviewed, the group of youths who booed showed disrespect to the president and not the governor alone.
Charles Obaigwa, an elder who was in attendance said that the people who booed the area governor were allegedly paid for the same to show how Nyagarama leadership was not good enough, though he said they did it at a wrong place.
“We know at some point they are not satisfied with the area governor John Nyagarama, but they have a good way to show him, by not voting him and not by booing him in from of the president,” he added.
Another elder, Evans Orang’i, added that he is pretty sure the section of the youths who booed the governor were paid by his opponents, and he condemned the act, citing it as ignorance of the highest level.
“We are a peaceful county and we love democracy, if they feel the leaders are not working well, let them wait until 2017 and vote them out,” he added.
This comes barely a week after the area governor was also booed at Nyaramba during the burial of Ex-MP Geoffrey Masanya.
