As citizentv.co.ke reports, the Embu Elders Forum and Nyangi Ndiiriri Council of Elders condemned the leaders accused them of fueling chaos among the electorate and creating divisions among communities living in the county.

Both Kivuti and Mbarire have declared their interest in the governor’s seat come 2017.

The elders led by John Gicangi appealed to all leaders to conduct peaceful campaigns and unity among all the Embu and Mbeere communities.

Gicangi said they will rally the electorate to shun leaders engaging in acts of violence and divisions.

He castigated leaders of misusing jobless youth to disrupt political meetings.

Nyangi Ndiiriri Council of Elders chairman, Andrew Ireri, echoed Gicangi’s sentiments and advised residents to shun leaders out to cause division among the Embu people.

A programme is in the offing to sensitise residents on the need to make right decisions so as to elect leaders who will foster development in the region.

Kivuti who has distanced himself from the violence claimed Mbarire had hired youth to disrupt the funds drive.
