Elders in Boisanga 1 Ekerenyo Nyamira County on Friday cursed a woman who abandoned her sick husband and fled to her parents’ home.
According to locals, the woman knowns as Teresa did not visit her sick husband while he was being admitted at Nyamira County hospital.
“Teresa’s husband was admitted at Nyamira county hospital on Sunday but she didn’t bother visiting him in hospital even after the man’s family members asked her to go and take care of him. She decided to go to her home leaving the sick husband in hospital in pain,” said Edwin Omwoyo, a resident.
The elders led by Andrew Okako said the woman returned to her husband’s home on Friday after she was informed that the man was discharged from hospital.
“We can’t allow her stay in this village because she could not stand with our son when he needed her most. Let her go and look for other men out there. She will not get any man to marry her because what she has done to our son is unforgivable,” said Okako.
Okako reiterated that the elders will not be convinced to allow the woman into the village.
The woman was chased away by family members like a wild dog wit her 3 children she was married with to the family.
