Elders of Borangi in Nyamira County on Thursday cursed a woman who allegedly snubbed her mother-in-law’s funeral.
It is said that the woman identified as Nyarangi, ran away from the home last year after a disagreement with her husband.
The elders led by Andrew Moriango cursed the woman for snubbing the funeral.
“Nyarangi will loiter from village to village and will never find a man to marry her. She snubbed the burial and also denied a chance to the deceased grandchildren to come and bury their grandmother. We don’t want her apology let her be and she will regret her wrong decision,” said Moriango.
The elders raised up their walking sticks saying the woman disrespected the elders after they visited her home to persuade her to come with the children to bury the deceased.
“We are angry with the woman. She can’t go unpunished because we rose up and down our walking sticks. Nyarangi will never have peace in her entire life,” he added.
