A cross section of elders from Nyaribabari Chache Constituency has dismissed as false claims that area Member of parliament's administration abets corruption and nepotism.
The elders led by Justus Mayuya termed the Mp's competitors and opinion leaders who were going round accusing him of nepotism, favouritism and misuse of public resources as desperate political schemers seeking to hound him out of office.
Addressing the press at Richard Tong'i hall today, the elders also expressed that the legislator has been in the forefront to help the less fortunate in the society and also transformed the area.
“We know they are just saying that he is not fit for office simply because he is the best and we want to call upon them to shut and wait until 2017,” he added.
They said Tong’i was being targeted by his political nemesis for his humble and transformative style of leadership.
The elders dismissed the area MCAs as leaders who had sensed defeat in the 2017 general elections and were seeking for political relevance by meddling into the affairs of the constituency.
They called upon them to join hands with the Mp to spearhead development in the area and help the community grow.
