Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi has received great boost as he seeks to defend his seat during the next general polls after elders endorsed him.

Elders from his Degodia clan have given Abdullahi the blessings he needed to clinch the seat for the second term. Over 400 elders from this clan unanimously agreed to back his re-election because of his great performance scoreboard.

“The development track record of Abdullahi is visible to all of us, and that is why we have decided to support him to vie for the second term," said one elder.

He also said that the elders have selected 60 elders to traverse different parts of the region to rally voters to re-elect him in August. This comes after Wiper Party Leader lauded him for his great role in devolving resources to the people.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that Abdullahi deserves to be among the best three governors in the entire nation.

“He is among the best three governors in the country. As a coalition, we are very proud of your governor. He deserves another term to complete the many development projects he has initiated,” Kalonzo said during a recent visit to the area.

Abdullahi got 41,000 votes in 2013 polls, beating Mr Abdi who garnered 35,000. Abdi has also declared his interest in the seat on a Jubilee Ticket.
