Nessuit Ward residents and elders have condemned the recent ouster of the Nakuru County Assembly Deputy Speaker Samuel Tonui.
Addressing journalist Isaac Korir, an elder, termed Tonui's ouster as unconstitutional.
Tonui was impeached through house standing orders amendment carried out by Nakuru County Assembly house speaker Susan Kihika.
"We all know that the house speaker, Susan Kihika, was the one behind Tonui's impeachment through amendment of the house standing orders,” said Korir.
Speaking to the press in Nakuru town, Korir went ahead and said that Samuel Tonui came from the Ogiek Community which is marginalised and the sacking of him meant that the community do not have a representative.
"His sacking means that we have been left with no good representation in the county assembly. All the other sub counties within Nakuru County have leaders representing them in the assembly but Njoro has none,” laments Korir.
The leaders urged the county assembly to ensure that they reinstate Tonui so that they can also feel that they are equally represented.
Korir was sacked last week after a number of MCAs accused him of not understanding the assembly's standing orders.
