A section of elders from the Kamba community have opposed the recent appointment of Philip Ndolo as Jubilee Party campaign coordinator in Changamwe.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Jubilee Party chairperson in Changamwe, Ronald Nzwala, said Ndolo has been a strong member of the Wiper Party and has never declared publicly defecting to Jubilee.
Nzwala termed Ndolo as an opposition mole whose appointment is likely to affect the outcome of the party in the region.
“We believe that Ndolo is an opposition mole in Jubilee and we as Kamba elders will not allow that,” said Nzwala, as quoted by Baraka FM.
The leaders argued that Ndolo and his supporters will divulge the secrets of the party to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and the entire opposition, thereby destabilizing the party in the area.
“Obviously he is an informant and it defeats logic that Shahbal was incapable of seeing these political strategies by the opposition,” said Mr Josiah Munyau, an elder.
The team called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to reverse Ndolo’s appointment for the sake of the party in the area.
