A section of Njuri Ncheke elders who supported Opposition leader Raila Odinga in the August 8 General Election have expressed regret over their decision.
Led by Francis Rimberia, the elders asked the Ameru community for forgiveness and pledged to support President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"We made a big mistake by endorsing Raila when our community rallied behind President Kenyatta. We regret over our decision and humbly ask for forgiveness," Rimberia said.
He made the remarks when they were received to Jubilee during a ceremony at Nchiru in Tigania West, Thursday.
Rimberia and his group went against the grain and backed NASA in the region that is perceived as Jubilee stronghold.
After being welcomed into the ruling party, the elders slaughtered a bull to celebrate Kenyatta's win in the October 26 repeat presidential poll.
"We are now fully behind Jubilee and our party leader President Kenyatta. We are planning on attending his swearing-in ceremony next week," Rimberia said.
