The elders now claim that a section of MCAs are being intimidated to support the impeached speaker, Anne Adul.

Led by former Muhoroni MP Onyango Midika, the elders claim the nominated MCAs are being threatened with withdrawal of their nomination certificates if they do not support the ousted speaker, who is in office courtesy of a court order.

“Nominated MCAs are being coerced, threatened and intimidated with expulsion should they fail to back Adul. This is not fair and no democracy,” he said.

Midika also claimed to have information of a ‘corrupt cartel’ planning to impeach Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma

Speaking to the press in Kisumu, the more than 20 elders drawn from Kisumu, Kano, Seme, Nyakach and Kajulu resolved that they support the impeachment of Anne Adul.

“All the elders here support the impeachment of Adul,” a joint statement from the group said.
