In a statement issued in Nakuru through chairman Gilbert Kabage, the council stated that the manner in which some politicians are making reckless utterances in public meetings is alarmist.

“This country has gone through a lot and we are calling on the security agencies to act now and tame these politicians engaged in hate speech," Kabage said.

He added: "In Turbo and Kapseret constituencies two prominent politicians have reportedly been making statements that are likely to create animosity between various communities living in the area and the law should take control."

While calling the youth to stop being used by politicians to cause chaos, Kabage further condemned chaos witnessed in Nakuru when two Jubilee factions clashed.

The council chair called on all communities to embrace peace and shun politicians who cause incitement.

He said that the council has already informed Rift valley Regional Co-ordinator Wanyama Musiambo about the same.
