Mandera county elders and residents on Sunday evening hosted the 27 members of the county assembly and thanked them for joining hands in closely working together to make sure they rejected the proposed executives of governor Ali Roba forwarded for vetting.

This came after the House, led by the hosted MCA's as majority, jointly rejected the list of the 10 executives on Thursday, November 9th, which was presented by Governor Roba.

Lafey Ward MCA Abdullahi Haji said they want better performance from the executive, and the names presented did not meet the requirements.

"Our service delivery for the people does not depend accepting non-performance executive whose docket received billions and close to it in every financial year, Mandera in the last five years appeared top on maternal mortality across the nation and this is due to the poor service delivery, half of the forwarded list for the vetting are the same executives who never worked on devolution but only pleased their boss which is clear to the public," he said.

Governor Roba has, on the other hand, vowed to remain with the same names he presented in the house and insisted he could not be cowed. 

Economic Freedom Party, which was an affiliated party to Jubilee, is the majority in Mandera County with 27 members of the county assembly, five legislators at the national house and appeared 4th best performed loyal party during the re-election of president Uhuru on 8th August.

Jubilee remains second in Mandera county with 17 members of the county assembly, two legislators, the governor and the senator.
