The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has been urged to put in place mechanisms that will ensure people living with disability are able to easily participate in Tuesday's general election.
According to Regina Chumba, an official at United Development for the disabled, an Eldoret based non governmental organisation, IEBC must give first priority for the disabled to vote.
Speaking in Eldoret on Thursday, Chumba further said voters with various disabilities should be allow to enter the polling centre with those helping them.
She challenged IEBC to ensure all polling centres can be easily accessed by the disabled.
"We expect that a disabled person will be given all the necessary support that will enable him/her to exercise the constitutional right to vote," noted Chumba.
"The disabled have various needs that need attention and we hope IEBC officials will allow those who can't speak to be accompanied with sign interpreters same to those with wheelchairs among others," she added.
