National Super League (NSL) side G.F.E 105 FC is now appealing to soccer fans and well-wishers to come to its rescue following prolonged financial challenges that have plagued the club since 2007.The Eldoret based side endured a frustrating 2017 campaign coupled with huge financial debts and has since organised for a fundraiser at the Sixty Four Stadium on February 4 to help save matters. The team has also set up a pay bill number to help in soliciting for funds from well-wishers even as it prepares for a grueling 2018 season."To all our football fans family in Uasin Gishu County and Kenya at large, in preparations for this year's season, and at your humble request, God has enabled us to get our team a pay bill number which reads as below:ACCOUNT NAME: GFE 105 FC, PAY BILL NO: 203557," read a statement by the club on their Twitter handle on Tuesday.
G.F.E finished 12th in their last season campaign but could struggle to replicate the feat should they lose out their key stars to the prying eyes of their rivals.A number of Kenyan teams have also been thrown into financial limbo following the withdrawal of gambling giant Sportpesa from sponsoring teams owing to a 35per cent tax levy imposed on them by the government.
