President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have been cautioned against attacking independent institutions in the country.

Eldoret Diocese Catholic Bishop Cornelius Korir has called on the two Jubilee leaders to respect the institutions as they had promised before.

Korir’s warning comes just days after Uhuru and Ruto are on record accusing the judiciary of siding with the National Super Alliance team (Nasa).

The president and his deputy during a recent Jubilee rally alleged the courts are working with Nasa in order to sabotage the August 8 elections.

This is after the High Court stopped Al Ghurair, a Dubai based firm, from printing the presidential ballot papers and directed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission (IEBC) to re advertise the tender.

Addressing members of the press, Tuesday, the Eldoret Catholic diocese bishop asked Uhuru and Ruto to raise their grievances through the right channel and cease from attacking the judiciary in public.

“They had said they will respect the institutions of the country, then they should respect the courts, let them appeal but not attack in public,” Korir said.
