With only one month left to go for the construction of the Southern Bypass in Eldoret, motorists around the area seem to be hopeful of efficient road transport.
The project which is estimated to cost Sh6 billion will be financed by the African Development Bank.
This project has been essentially launched to ease the hectic traffic jams that characterise the Eldoret Central Business District.
The launch of the project was one of the core topics of discussion between the head of state and the leaders of the North Rift region during a hosting at the Eldoret State Lodge on Sunday.
This initiative is aimed at opening up the North Rift region for heightened business and also to solidify Eldoret town as the capital business hub in the region.
And onto more good news for the region, Deputy President William Ruto announced that the survey plans for the construction of a dual carriage-way set to link Eldoret International Airport to the junction on Iten Road are underway.
This is aimed at easing the handling capacity of the airport.
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago said the county is fully prepared for the project he explained that the county has already purchased its own equipment to carry out the construction.
