Eldoret town and its surrounding residential estates will experience interruption of water supply for two days beginning Wednesday.
Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (Eldowas) said the situation is occasioned by a routine maintenance at Chebara Dam, a main water water source for Eldoret residents.
In a public notice signed by the Eldowas Managing Director, interruptions in water supply begins Wednesday 9.00am to Thursday August 24, 2017 at 8.00pm.
"This is to notify our esteemed customers in the aras listed below that the water supply from Chebara Dam will be interrupted....the interruption is to allow for routine maintenance," reads part of the public notice.
"We apologise for any inconveniences caused," added the notice.
However not all residents would be affected as the company said "Our Sosiani water treatment plant will be operational during t period of interruption of the supply from Chebara.
"Areas to be affected include; Kimumu, University of Eldoret and surroundings, Marakwet farm, Kapchumba, the upper parts of Maili Nne, Munyaka, Kapsoya, Action estates, Rift Valley Bottlers, Upper Elgon View, Eldoret Polytechnic, Annex, Langas, Racecourse, Kapseret, Chepkanga, Marura, Kamukunji, Mwanzo, Old Uganda Road and all customers along the Chebara - Eldoret pipeline and their environs.
