Ugandan High Commissioner to Kenya Ambassador Phibby Awere Otaala on Monday paid a courtesy call to Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno.
The Ugandan High Commissioner is working on strengthening trade ties across East African Community (EAC).
Chemno said bringing exhibitions to Eldoret will open up the region for investors.
"Eldoret is a direct beneficiary of Ugandan products as most of the commodities we use are from there," he said.
The Ambassador is in Eldoret for Trade Expo on matters Promoting Uganda - Kenya cross-border trade and investment.
The expo which is the 'first' to be held in Kenya is expected to go down from Monday evening at an Eldoret hotel.
A delegation from Uganda led by the Ugandan Minister for Trade and Industrialisation is expected to join Kenya's Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) for Foreign Affairs Ababu Namwamba flanked by Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno among other high profile leaders.
