Eldoret will again come alive this Sunday when top athletes battle for the top honours at the inaugural Kenya Red Cross Charity half marathon.
The race aims to fund-raise funds for the hunger-stricken regions as well as addressing disasters.
Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge was named the race ambassador.
With his success in marathon, the race is expected to attract hundreds of the athletes training in the region.
According to the Local Organising Committee chairman Mjr (Rtd)Charles Chesire, the race will attract some of the country’s experienced and upcoming runners.
“At the moment we have not many races in the region and we are confident that the race will attract the best ones. I also want to urge the upcoming to grace the vent in order to showcase their skills,” he added.
The race will start at Tembelio, before winding its way to Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County.
