Opposition chief Raila Odinga's attack on Deputy President William Ruto while in Mombasa county has elicited mixed reactions from sections of locals in Eldoret town.
Speaking in Mombasa during an Eid Baraza, Raila said Ruto's presidency was not guaranteed so he should stop loitering.
He further noted that some people should not dare call for a lifestyle, in reference to the DP.
"You are dishing out cash. We know your salary. Don't ask for a lifestyle audit. We know the thieves," Raila said.
The sentiments have however not gone down well with some locals in Eldoret, the backyard of DP Ruto.
Here are a few reactions from the locals on Twitter.
@rodgerskeino - Why did Raila attack Ruto? I thought the handshake was for every leader, not Raila and Uhuru only.
@benkosgei - I know Raila has his heart and soul in sabotaging Ruto's presidency.
@kenkogei - Raila and Ruto should sort their differences. In fact, they should take the handshake to Nyanza and Rift Valley.
@janejepkoech - 2022 is so far. Petty politics will not help the nation. Leaders should deliver to people who elected them.
@esthercherono - Hatutakula siasa. Bidhaa zinapanda kila siku. Badala ya siasa watengeneze uchumi ya nchi imezororota sana.
@henrysang - If a handshake cannot do between Raila and Ruto then a huge shake can do lol!
@reubenotieno - Instead of attacking Ruto, reveal corruption scandals the way you used to.
